The Markie Foundation Partners with The Pepper Festival & Hot Sauce Expo

Proceeds from inaugural event to benefit children’s hospice, among other charities.

On a warm, sunny Saturday afternoon in June, The Markie Foundation partnered with The Pepper Festival & Hot Sauce Expo to benefit children’s hospice and other charities in 2018. This marked the first major fundraising event  in the Greater Sacramento area for The Markie Foundation, which was established in the San Francisco Bay area and is now located in Rocklin.

“We were very excited to be involved with The Pepper Festival in its inaugural year,” says Joe Wuelfing, co-founder of The Markie Foundation. “In addition to it being a fun, festive, family event, it helped us increase our awareness and fundraising efforts in the Sacramento area as we continue to advocate for children’s hospice.”

The Markie Foundation staffed a beverage booth serving “Markie’s Margaritas” and other light drinks. A percentage of the profits from the event will go to The Markie Foundation to support children’s hospice programs and families with terminally-ill children.
